My new toy

Not long ago, this little i rock was quite the rage on some craft blogs. Word had died down a bit, but when I saw this at my Michael's and I had a 50% off coupon, I just had to get it. Not bad for $7.50. I don't think I would have bought it full price at $15. It works great and I can't wait to get some more gems. Any one know where the best deal to find them at?

Look what I won!!!

I was so thrilled to hear that I won the basketball solutions cartridge from a blog hop I visited recently. It is one I don't have and yet I have a son who loves sports, including basketball. It will be handy very soon with him. Jamie at http://cutecardsandcraftsbyjamie.blogspot.com/ mailed it to me promptly and also included a few goodies. How exciting. I just love the little yellow album. I can't wait to use it and the other items too.  They are all so cute and appreciated. Thank you Jamie. :)

Flamingo card.

I made this card for the My Pink Stamper Challenge to use a bird. I decided to use an easel card that I learned how to make on Made by Momo. The measurements for the card base is 4 x 11. Then score at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. The front part measures 3 3/4 x 2 1/2 and then 3 1/2 x 2 1/4.

The flamingo is from Life's a Beach at 4 1/2 inches.
Grass from Zooballo and sized on my Gypsy to 3.8 x 2.78.

Karlee Krafts Envelope Challenge

Karlee at Karlee Krafts had a challenge on My Pink Stampers site to use an envelope. I stamped a matching envelope, but also included a card with a envelope on the card.

CCC # 43 Baby card with only white, yellow, green and orange

So I had a bit too much fun with this challenge. I hope you can play along too at  Cricut Cards. Only one of them I could submitt to the CCC design team example for this challenge to make a baby card using only the colors white, green, yellow and orange. I thought that this challenge was great for any gender baby.

So the first on is from New Arrival, I welded the baby carriage to make a card and then used the layers to decorate it a bit. The hearts came from a punch I have. I inked the edges to help the hood stand out better. I have mixed feelings now that it is done.
This is also from New Arrival. I just love this cart. It opens in the center. I saw an example of this one online on the Cricut message board here. Mine of course looks different, but it was the style I was trying to emulate.

Got to love the giraffe from Create a critter.  The Congrats. is from New Arrival.

This is a stretch your imaginations carriage. This was the first card I made for this challenge. I really wanted to use the same cut and remake it a bit differently, but I go distracted by all the other cards I made and never got back to this one. Oh, well, maybe next time.

This was my second card I made.  Came out different that I imagined it up in my mind, but I am still happy with it.

Momo's Hubby challenge

When I told my husband about Momo's hubby challenge. He was excited. At first he wanted to do something with an apple and a worm. I nixed that ideas, since I just designed one in my gypsy for a challenge and I was not going to give that up.

Any way he came up with a bug theme on his own. He asked me what bugs do you have? I told him a ladybug, bee, caterpillar and so on. I forgot I had this cricket. He found it on his own. I'm not even sure where he got the sun from.

Anyway I left to go to a meeting and was excited to come home to see his finished project. It was not done. You see my computer savvy husband had it all laid out on my gypsy, but was waiting for me to come home to tell him how to weld the letters. He also said I forgot how to zoom. I always feel great when I know something he doesn't. LOL.

So I read a book to him while he finished things up and this is how it turned out. Watch out, he may want t make some more cards soon.

I am not sure who's birthday this is for, since everyone in our house has already had a birthday, but it is cute none the less.

Apple of my eye

My husband is not thrilled with the green and yellow on this card.  It reminds him a bit too much of the Oregon Ducks and well we may live in Oregon, but we are not Duck fans.  Go Beavers!!!!

Any way,  have been wanting to try this Apple and worm out and this is just the right project.

In memory of 9/11 card

When I think about 9/11. I remember it was the second week of school for my first daughter. I was home in the morning, when my husband called from work with the news. We didn't get any tv stations other than PBS, so I had to listen to the news reports on the radio. I remember thinking how this just could not be real. Hours later I went to my daughter's kindergarten to celebrate her birthday, even though it was not her actual birthday. I rember going to the school and trying so hard to be happy, yet I was so sick to my stomach.

My heart goes out to those who have lost love one to 9/11 or to the service to our country. Our country would not be the same without those wonderful servicemen and women and their ever supportive families. Thank you to you all.

For my Friend card

So for some reason this card looks much better in person than in the photo.  Anyway it was for a couple of challenges.  One for Sweet Sunday Sketch # 84 and the other is for the Cuttlebug's birthday challenge #100.

CCC Challenge # 41

This week we have a challenge on CCC to make a fall card, without using brown, orange, or yellow. Wow is that hard. I did not realize how much I love my brown. I think I use it on most things I make.

All cuts are from Paperdoll dress up. I hope you play along with this challenge at CCC.  There are some beautiful cards from the other designers.  Go take a look, I think it will inspire you to make a fall card.

Princess Castle Card

Seems like one of my kids has a princess party to go to from time to time. So I thought I would have a card ready to go. This is for the Mojo Monday # 155 Challenge and for Paper play time # 15.

The  pattern paper is from DCWV - The Sweet Mat
Dark Pink is CTMH Hollyhock and the other is from my scrap pile.

I like this layout.  I think it is pretty cute.  Hope you enjoy it too.

Spider card with joke

So what type of sentiment do you put with a spider card? I just couldn't think of anything I really liked so I did a joke instead. What fun this card was to make. I used stickles on the spider and glossy accents on the web. Web and spider both cut from Paperdolls dress up. I did this for a challenge for Mary at Cardz TV.

Hedgehog hello card

I started this hedgehog for something else that just did not work out with her, but she was too cute to get rid of, so I saved her and then I saw the papecutz challenge # 57 and I knew it was time to finish up heggie. The challenge there was to use one ribbon, two buttons, and three colors. I chose the colors: brown, cream, and purple.

The cool frame is from an online photo editor called Picnik.  The free version has some good options.

These are some of my favorite things

I love pink. I love brown. I love cards. I love flowers and ribbon. I love glitter and crafting. These are some of my favorite things.

I made this card for a challenge I just found this week at Jitterbuggin. They had a cute tutorial link on how to make this folding frame. This is a card that I would not mail. It would cost extra, since it is pretty thick. The flower in the center is 4 layers of foam tape. One between each layer and the base.

All the paper, but the pattern paper is from Papertrey Ink. The flower is cut from Sweet Treats. The center of the flower has glitter on the petals and the center I used the cuttlebug tiny bubbles.

I also thought I would submit this for the cuttlebug challenge, where the theme is pink for My Pink Stamper. She has some new great stamps out that I think I might have to invest in soon. Hope you enjoy.

Money envelopes

I had fun making these envelopes for some kids I teach at church tomorrow. The lesson is on the principle of a tithe. In order to reinforce the concept. I made money envelopes for each child. It is very much based on the Dave Ramsey system for those who are aware of it.

Any way I did not have an envelope, so I designed it using only George on my gypsy. It is so very cute. I love it. I hot glued Velcro on and think it turned out great. Let me know if you want the cut file. I would be happy to share.

CCMC114 - Sketch Challenge

I saw this sketch and knew immediately that I wanted to try it. I would like to try it again with smaller and solid ribbon for a different look. The flowers are glitter and cuttlebugged with a stone in the middle.  Flowers are cut from Create a critter.  I made this for a challenge at CCMC # 114.

Farm card

I just love this barn in the Everyday paper dolls cart. The turkey and ducks came from Animal Kingdom. The grass and fence from Dress up paper dolls. The tree is from Stretch your imaginations. The clouds came from a varity of carts. It was pretty time consuming to put it all together, but it was fun to make.
It reminds me of the farm I grew up on, where we had wild turkeys, duck and chickens.  For a small bit of time we had goats, sheep and horses too.  We didn't have the cool red barn, but oh well.  I am glad to live in town now. Too much work to own a farm.  I would never have time for crafting and that would be too sad.

Scallop card

I have seen some cute scallop circle cards. They are sooo cute. I am excited that I finally made one. I did this one for Monday Mojo Challenge 154. It also fit the Cricut Cutz Challenge # 40 of scalloped circles and squares. My final thought was to also  use only black and white and one other color, so I could enter it into Momo's challenge # 31 this week. I have never done three challenges with one project, mainly because I like doing the challenges that it doesn't bother me to do a couple at a time and I like to keep my project simple.

The Scallop circle and the circles are cut from alphalicious and the scallop square and squares are from mini monograms. Lastly the clovery things are from Storybook.
