Stormy ship card

I saw recently a card with a silhouetted boy fishing in the most beautiful sunset background. It was truly beautiful. I don't remember the site I saw it on, but it sure left an impression on me. So when I saw this ship in Paper doll dress up. I just had to have a try at a stormy background. I will want to play with it more, but this was my first attempt.

Winter challenge

My Pink Stamper has a winter challenge right now going on on her blog. Winter always makes me think of the birth of Christ. I have been dying to make this manger scene from the Paper dolls dress up cartridge for a while. I noticed that there is a new cartridge coming out soon with a manger scene. I will have to get that one and try it too. All of this was cut and re-sized in my gypsy. The background is done with a brayer roller and three shades of blue ink. Then I used the snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder. The only thing that I am missing is a star, but there were not any that I was really thrilled about in the carts I own.

Hello Kitty cards

My seven year old daughter patiently watches me make things, so I asked her if she wanted to make a card for her two teachers this year and she jumped at the chance. She enjoyed picking out what she wanted to make and the color of papers. I had to help a bit with small parts, but other than that she did a great job.

The Hello Kitty balloon card is for her best friend who has a birthday coming up soon.

Cards my oldest daughter made this week

My oldest daughter enjoys my cricut as much as I do. I appreciate her talent and thought I would share a few that she made.

Owl be seeing you

I am not sure I can get enough of this owl in the create a critters cartridge. I just love it. The scallop and circle were also cut from the same cartridge under the phrase option on the hedgehog page.  So many options. Any how, here is another card just for fun that  I made it for the Turned gypsy challenge here. The challenge is to use dots, stripes, ribbon and buttons.

A princess and a prince card (once upon a pricess)

I fell in love with the "Once upon a princess" cartridge, and had to get it, but since my girls are getting older I really haven't had the time to use it. So I was thrilled when Emma at My Creative Time issued a princess challenge for throw back Thursday. I don't own the Tinkerbell cartridge that she used for the challenge, but I was tickled to finally use this one.

It reminds me of a quote I heard from a youth leader of my a long time ago before.  "You will have to kiss a bunch of frogs, before you will find your prince."

A card for my daughter

I made this card with my oldest daughter in mind. She does so much for our family that I thought I should just let her know how much we appreciate her.

I used the following cartridges: George, Freshly picked, and Storybook. I welded the storybook border to the square. I am rather pleased at how it turned out.

I will also be using the for challenge #78 from Card Patterns.

Whale Card

I remember one summer going to the San Juan Islands and being excited to sight an orca whale way off the coast with our binoculars. Just moments later our excitement changed as we drove down the road to find a spot that you could look down and see them right next to us. At first it was just one at a time then two or three at a time. We never would have thought that seeing eight at one time was even possible, but it was. This trip was a fond memory that few ever see. So I made my own whale watching card in memory of the event.

I did this for the following challenges:
Papercutz Challenge # 55 anything goes
FCCB #23  An outdoor activity
Card Positioning Systems # 181-  sketch design

Storybook card

Here are a couple of cards I made to give to my mother-in-law for her birthday. My daughter made some too and I will post them hopefully this week.  I heard she wanted some thank you cards to give people who have been so helpful as she has struggled with some pretty big health problems.

Card Patterns Sketch 77

Here is another Card Patterns Sketch.  As usual I stick pretty close to the pattern.  I personally like the clean simple look that these patterns provide.  I will add my sentiment later, as I find the perfect situation that it fits.
The pattern paper is from DCWV Glitter Sweet stack, and  the  flower is cut at 1 1/2 from the Storybook Cartridge.

Dino thank you card

Today a little boy I teach at church brought me cookies. I guess he tried to come a couple of other times this last week, but we were not home. Any way I thought what 4 1/2 year old boy doesn't want a dino thank you card. I kept it rather simple since it is for a a boy. No ribbon or other fancy stuff. After all we all know the dino is the only thing he will really notice. I plan to mail it tomorrow. I hope he enjoys getting mail as much as my children do.

Dino is from Create a critter
THANKS is from Mickey Font
Tiny bubbles cuttle bug background
Yellow A2 card
Orange, Yellow, blue, white and black paper
Clear stickles fro the eye and spots

Make a Wish Birthday Card- Card Patterns Sketch #76

Wow, I got this made the first day. I did this for Card Patterns Challenge #76 that was just released online today. Scallop border at bottom is from tag option on Sweet treats, as is all the cuts on this card. Scallop circle is from one of the flowers, circles are the flower centers. All were sized on my gypsy to fit.

Hope you enjoy.

Fall Squirrel Card for Paper Cutz Challenge

Here is the Create a critter cartridge again, this time for a cute little squirrel. I did this for challenge # 53 for Paper Cutz. The leaves and acorn are from some sizzix embossing folders I got on clearance a while ago at Custom Crops and have been wanting to use. The leaves are bigger than I would like, but I think I like them better than not. I love my acorn. I will definitely use that more often.

Summer get together card for FCCB

The watermelon is cut at 2 1/4 from Doodle Charms. The hamburger and Let's Eat is cut from Locker Talk. I did this for the Fantabulous blog summer/BBQ project.

I think I will have to use it to invite someone over to our house for a end of the summer BBQ and get together. Please leave a comment. I love any feedback.

Butterfly Card Card Patterns Sketch 75

I have only done three of this site's card patterns , but I am really loving this site. After I finished, I thought of a couple of things I would do differently, but am very happy with this one for a first run.

The paper, ribbon and ink is all close to my heart (chocolate, hollyhock, and blush).   The butterfly cut out is is cut at 1 inch from the Once upon a princess cartridge.

If you are coming from Card Pattern's website, please feel free to view the rest of my blog here.

Feel free to share a comment.  I love comments and suggestions, so don't be afraid to leave one.
