Ice Cream Cone card

I did this ice cream cone card for a challenge on Fantabulouscricut   # 18. I just recently stumbled on this blog and will be checking them out more soon.

This is a fun card to make. It did not turn out as expected at the beginning. I just tweaked things as I went. The goal was to make it a card using Sweet treats card function. I pretty much make A2 size cards, so for met to make one that was not a rectangle was a good challenge for me. That turned out pretty easy.

The cone was not the right fit, but we made it work. The scoops were the perfect size. The flavors are mint chocolate chip, vanilla carmel swirl, and chocolate with a cherry on top. I used UTEE on the ice cream and cherry to give them a shiny look that they have would normally have. Added diamond stickles to a part of th cherry. Cuttlebug Divine Swirls on the middle scoop of ice cream and the cone I used candy cane cuttlebug. I have seen som great embossing folders for the cone, I just don't own one.

Cars B-Day invitation

Here are three of the invitations for my son's birthday party.   I would do this differently if I did it again, but I had all the little parts already cut out before I assembled the first one.  Way too many little parts.  This is better if done a bigger size for this cut out in my opinion. Which color do you like best?

Christmas card Challenge

For Throw back Thursday on "Creative time for me" we were asked to use wild card to make a holiday card. Since I don't have it, I used Stretch your Imagination. I am also using this card for the challenge for Cardztv, as it is Christmas in July and the challenge was to use ribbon, buttons, or lace. I have a button trim from cuttlebug and ribbon. The sentiment of Merry Christmas was done by inking the cuttlebug folder and then embossing the paper.

Owl do again Card

Some times when one makes a project. Later the thoughts of how to make it better come to mind. I decided to remake this card from the one I did a couple of post ago (here). I went with blue instead of pink and then layered the branch and flower. Most of it is the same similar cuts, but I am much more pleased with this one. I think the flowers pop more. The sentiament stands out better. Both are cute and I will give them both out, but I am please with my second try. Let me know what you think.

Sweet Treat Flower card

I had to test out some new Close to My Heart paper and ink. So I made this card with it. All paper is CTMH, except the green, which is a paper pack from Joann's Fabric.

I hope its a hoot - Cricut Create a critter card

I have been watching people make owl cards.  I finally sat down to put it together.  Thank you to Momo for her set of owl postcards that finally motivated me to put this together.  In fact I have been trying to do a card in each of my favorite Create a Critter animals, due to all the great cards I have seen at  Made by Momo and My Pink Stamper.  I love my Cricut, it makes some of the cutest things.  Stay tuned for more Create a critter card this month and I just ordered Freshly Picked.  I can't wait to make some cards with it too.

You inspire me card

My Pink Stamper recently chose some very talented people for her design team.  I thought it would be fun and a good opportunity for me to step up my level of cricutting.  So I sent this project in.  I did not make the team, but I am still glad I participated.

Here is what I used:
White A2 size card
Drk. brown paper
2 shades of pink paper

Divine swirl cuttlebug on frame
Sweet treats- (Flower 2)
Tiny bubbles cuttlebug on flower center
ek success dotted scallop edge punch
pencil to curl flower petals

Bee & Ladybug card Create a Critter

Here are two cards that I made both the bee and the ladybug are from Create a Critter cartridge. They were each cut at 2 1/4.  Don't you just love the Cricut? One card is 5 inch square, while the ladaybug is 6 inches square. The last photo is the inside. All I need to do now is add a stamped greeting and it is ready to go.  I think I will what till I know who I am giving it to before I add that.

The inspiration for these card came from a blog called, "Card Positioning Systems".  My card does not look nearly as crisp as Jeanne Streiff's card.  I loved her bee so much I had to copy it.

Card Patterns Sketch # 72 Challenge

I have never done a card challenge where I had to follow a certain pattern. I thought this was good for me, since I like to do A2 size cards. I tend to shy away from square, but after this one I think I will continue to expand more often. This was for a challenge on Card Patterns blog. All paper but the white is from Papertrey Ink, as is the ink. The main cut is from Stretch your imagination and the flower is from Create a critter cartridges. Well now I am going to have to make an envelope to go with this, so I have it ready to go at any point it is needed.

Christmas in July #2 Winter Woodland Snowman card

Wow, this is great. Yesterday I entered my first challenge. Now a day later I am entering my second one. This has been fun, since it gives me an excuse to make cards. This one is for a "Christmas in July" challenge from Mary on Cardz TV. The only requirement was to use a snowman. I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.
