This week, we start the new challenges for 2012 for Cardz TV. This week is to make a card using any cartridge or colors with the theme summer.

Both of these cards were made using the Smiley Cards cartridge. The card bases are each 3 1/2 square. The sun was cut at around 2 1/2 inches and the cone was cut at 3 inches.

On the second card I used the Welcome Baby cuttlebug folder and a Give a Hoot embossing folder.

The stamps are from Sweet Anna Bee Designs.

Snowflake box made with Silhouette Cameo

Here is a box I cut out using my new Silhouette. I downloaded the file from the Silhouette website for only 75 cents. I cut the base to fit a 12 x 12 page and then the top was small enough to fit on a smaller standard size paper. It was easy to put together and I am rather impressed with the results.

The best part is that the box is pretty big. 5 1/2 inches wide (from side to side, not point to point) and 3 inches tall. I think I am going to put some clear acetate inside to seal off the box before I use it.

Now just what treat should I put inside.

Cricut not so much my way

When I first got my cricut, it was so long ago that there was only one choice. I researched and I loved it from the moment I got it. And I still do today.

Six months later, I picked up a Silhouette. I returned it because I hated it. I became that day a very loyal Cricut user.
However, today I used the new Silhouette Cameo. Can I say I love this machine. I bought it for the print and cut versatility. I will say that my expectations were high and it indeed meets everything I wanted it to do. I just have not been sold on the imagine and this ended up being a better fit for me.

Above is the first thing I tried after a brief learning curve. Basically 20 minutes after it came out of the box. I was able to make the image above. I used the shield that came with the cameo and a font on my computer.

Next, I tried opening a jpeg and seeing if I could do the same thing.   Here next thing I printed and cut.

It did it perfectly.   I love this machine. Any thing that can be made in Photoshop can be cut.     I made these Hot cocoa sundaes a few weeks ago. The idea came from the family fun magazine. I ended up cutting this tag square, because I didn’t want to hand cut it all out.   Now I can do it any way I want.

Lastly, I wanted to be able to cut a shadow (not on the printed line, as I did above). Can I say “Cameo, where have you been my whole life?”

I do an advent each year. Most years it is done nightly by candlelight. Scripture, 4-5 songs and a Christmas story. This year I thought I would mix it up a bit by having a theme. I thought I would share our plan for this year. This was adapted from an advent I found on Sugardoodle. We will also still read some stories too, as this is a favorite part of our tradition.

CCC # 96 Christmas card that starts with an "S"

Welcome to the challenge on Cardz TV for CCC # 96. This time we were make a Christmas card with something that starts with the letter "S".

I chose to do snowflakes.

I welded these snowflakes from the Cricut Cake Basics cartridge that I just go this last week. It is one of my favorite snowflakes right now.

I also used some paper from from the My Mind's Eye paper stack "Merry Little Christmas"

It is really cute paper. I think I like all of them.

The solid red is core'dinations paper

Cricut cookies

So here are the pictures of the cookies I cut with the cricut cake. Leaf was from create a critter (cut 4 1/2), snowflake and butterfly are both from Cake Basics (cut 3 3/4).

I was very pleased with the cutting, but the glaze was better on the leaves. I need a thinker one next time for the decorative glaze. Here is the recipe I used and here is the recipe I want to use next time. This one has the same ingredients, just more powder sugar.

A new toy

When these first came out, I thought they were cool. I had seen what people had made with the regular expression before the cake ever existed. However, I just did not want to spend the money on something that I would only use occasionally. However, when I saw this listed for $49.99 online with free shipping (that ended up even being express shipping), I just could not pass it up. It came with a cartridge too. Now a days I try not to spend more then $25 on a cartridge, but I remember the day when I thought $40 was a good deal. So to get a cartridge and a machine for $50 is pretty hard to pass on.

However, I have not made fondant before and I live a ways from any craft store, so I did what I could easily do today. Sugar cookies of course.

I used the recipe on cricut.com site for cookie dough. I had heard you have to freeze the sheets of dough first and after you cut, so I did, in addition to using parchment paper to cut on. I found a pressure set at 2 was perfect.

The cookies turned out cute, but my frosting glaze could use a bunch of help. I am going to try a new recipe next time. I was hoping to use royal frosting, but I am not one who likes to use raw egg for anything.

Maybe I will take some pictures of the finished product tomorrow, before they are all eaten. Or maybe I will have to just make more.

Overall after a few youtube videos, it really was easy to use. So glad I got to give it a try. I hope to make many more fun edible treats soon.

Halloween treat bags

Last Christmas I requested these stamp faces from Peachy Keen, after seeing so many cute Halloween projects. Now 10 months later I am delighted to have an excuse to use them. I heard my daughter's 3rd grade teacher was going to have a celebration (too old for a Halloween Party), but I could send a treat to school. So my daughter and I together made 33 treat bags (yes that is a big class of 8 and 9 year olds). We both had fun. I got to do the stamps and she embossed and did much of the gluing.

I have been eyeing these scarecrows in the Simply Charmed cartridge. So the card didn't turn out exactly how I was hoping, but I adapted as I went changing things here and there. I will have to play with these two some more. They are too cute not to use again and again.

Welcome, this is for CCC # , for Mary at Cardz TV. The challenge was to use any cartridge and colors for a Halloween card. This was on my mind ever since I made a bunch of treat bags for one of my kids class party. I just love these colors from Papertrey Ink. Face stamp is from Peachy Keen Stamps. The pumpkin is cut at 3 inches from Mini Monsters.

Sweet Tooth Cupcake box #1

So when you find a great recipe for a cupcake, you just want to share it with others, so why not use a cute box. So when I picked up the Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge recently I was super excited to make one. My only worry was how big to cut it so it would fit a cup cake. Well guess what Cricut fixed that issue too. Even though you can cut it any size, there is a red box that tells you the recommended sizes. In this case it was to cut at 11 inches. All I can say is this box is super easy and fast to make. I will be back with more soon.

Yum, yum this was so tasty and pretty too. I got the recipe from a Annie's Eats. I love her recipes and really wish she lived next door to me. Her recipes are really amazing and this mint chocolate cupcake was not exception.

I first have to apologize for being missing in action for so long on my blog. Where has the time gone? I am so thankful to still be on this design time, so that when life gets busy I have an excuse as to why I "have to craft". I am hoping that this post is the beginning of some regular posting and regular checking of others blogs. I haven't been very good at doing that either for a while.

So on to business.... This week I got to participate in a challenge for Cardz TV. The challenge was to "Think Pink" in remembrance that October is breast cancer awareness month.

Even more my heart goes out to those you have lost loved ones to this. May those loved one always be remembered and loved and most of all may we all appreciate those who are still in our midst. One day we will all conquer this disease.

More Cookie Dough Goodness

If you didn’t see the last post on the Cookie Dough Cupcakes, go back to them. They are so pretty. These Cookie Dough Truffles are not as pretty, since I was rushing to finish them before I needed to leave. Tempering the chocolate took longer than I was expecting it to take. None the less these taste great too.

I recently saw a post for these yummy and super rich (like so rich you can’t possibly eat a whole one) Cookie Dough Cupcakes. I just couldn’t wait to make them. Best part yet, I now know how to make my own non-egg cookie dough. Regular cookie dough doesn’t quite work right and I have been wondering how to make it for a while.

She always has such positive comments and I will miss this opportunity. I saw this adorable 3 piece onsie set that I picked up from a store for a gift for some one who just had a little girl. It was my inspiration to making this card. Rather fun to try to match. Words from New Arrival and flower and monkey from Create a Critter. I thought they would be perfect for the PKS challenge, because I love the face and eyes on this monkey on the card.

This week at My Creative time with Emma, our throw back challenge is any cartridge. Just use the colors yellow and green. Since the college I went to had its rival school's colors as yellow and green, I am rather selective on using yellow with green. Except with flowers of course. One can never go wrong with flowers right? The flower cut is from Walk in My Garden, which is a oldie but still a goodie. I had never before used this cut and hope to using it again soon. The punch border is new. I got both of them for my birthday recently from my kids. Aren't they sweet?

Here is my card. How do you like my burnt ROAR. The letters look a bit singed. This week challenge was to make something that wobbled, can shake or pop. I chose to use an action wobble. So I only have five of them and have been saving them to use for something special. After using one, I can say I really love them and would love to get more some day.

I love summer, so I couldn't resist this card of watermelon. I love eating watermelon and summer is my favorite time of the year. This card was for MPS Challenge # 8, summer themed card or layout.

The melon is cut from Simply Charmed, but the seeds are from Doodle Charms.

I have been wanting to try this basket from the Easter cartridge I borrowed from a friend. I am thinking I will have to use her cartridge more often. I just love how the edges are scalloped. Too bad my CDS is not working (crashes each time I open it) otherwise I would have made it bigger and since I don't own it, I couldn't use my gypsy to remove the handle. Too bad Easter has past other wise I would be making them for my kids.

Here is the second card I made. I just love how it turned out. This challenge for MPS was to make a Man card with kraft colored paper. At first I was disappointed that the sailboat was so small (even though I cut it at 3 inches). Any way, not wanting to waste a good cut, I framed it and ended up very pleased with the result.

Tonight when I got home from I saw My Pink Stamper had lots of challenges for National Scrapbook Day. The first challenge was to do anything cupcake. I have had a busy last couple months and well instead of doing laundry I made this card and a few more. What a great night its been. Sentiment cut at 2 inches and cupcake at 3 inches. Both were from Once upon a time.

2011 Teacher appreciations week had the Theme: Our Teachers And Staff Are Our STARS!!! (Successfully Teaching And Reaching Students)

As the ACES Parents' Club we celebrate and thank not only our teachers during this week, but all the staff at the school. This year due to budget cuts we had only 40 total staff and teachers.

Monday started off the week of our theme, by putting up stars on each of the doors of the classrooms or the hallway for those who work in more than one classroom. Each had their name and a picture.

Next we went to the Teachers Lounge and put decorations up on the doors, walls, ceiling and tables. This was in preparation for The Awards Ceremony the next day.

Tuesday was a staff meeting. What better time than some light snacks and awards.

Cheese and Cracker platters and sparkling cider on every table.

And what award ceremony would be complete without tuxedo strawberries.

Here is just one of the awards. It was so nice to see everyone giggle and comment on all the awards. I even heard a few comments that the awards were right on for describing the teachers. Afterward, I saw a few of the teachers even hung them up in their classrooms.

Wednesday was rather simple. We just left a starburst attached to a poem in everyone's boxes.

Each teacher and staff member on Thursday morning, received a "VIP Basket" filled with fun things ( 6 handmade cards, note pad, pencils, eraser, 30 stickers, a poem and a snicker doodle cookie).

Her is one of the cards someone made. There was a group who made the cards. I saw this one when I was getting every thing ready, and feel in love with it. The background was stamped with as stamp that says, " I would give up chocolate, but I am no quitter". Love it!!!

What beach would be complete without a beach ball. This is a shaped card I made with my gypsy using the Life's a Beach cartridge. I am going to add a label tag later. I am thinking this may be a great boy birthday card for one of the parties my son will soon attend, but it also could be used for a " Hope you have a ball" card too.

Card Creations and More #8 A cute Basket

This week at Card Creations and More, we were to make any thing, but not a card or a layout. So immediately I thought of two things. Carrots that I made last year from and some type of basket. I searched for options online and found this one made by Denise Hill on her blog. She has the SVG file to use. Hers has a handle I chose not to use.

The bottom one was my first try. I thought it would be cute to add ribbon, but it was too thick and did not look right. The second try, I decided to fancy it up a bit by adding a punched border and this time a thinner ribbon and of course cute paper flowers. I thought of making 3-D flowers but went with the flat version for convience and time. Either way I am glad to have made these. Now just 44 more. I am making these baskets for Teacher Appreciations week and our theme is, " Our teacher and staff are our stars." Each will get a VIP basket of cute things on one of the days that week. In order to keep cost down. Paper is the lest expense way to go, unless I can find some after Easter clearance baskets that don't look too Eastery.

This week we are making a "Spring" Card. What a great way to encourage more good sunny weather. Where I live a little less spring showers during the day would be nice too. My favorite thing of spring is the new growth of flowers. I just love tulips and daffadils and all the pretty colors of spring.

Here is another week at Card Creations and More with Christina. This week's challenge was to use pattern ribbon. It surely did not turn out as good as I envisioned, but it is cute and all. I think it would make a great card for a teacher. After all teacher appreciation week is the first week in May. Teacher appreciation day is May 2nd this year. I thought the girl playing with the ball is a perfect reflection of a child. Always so playful.

Things about me:
1. I adore my three kids, mom is my best job ever and the hardest too.
2. I went to high school with my husband. We did not date, but I did give him a hard time. A girl in our math class used to joke that we bickered like a married couple. That year I wrote in his yearbook that I felt sorry for who ever we actually married if we bickered like a married couple and we were not even an item.
3. I am great a memorizing phone numbers. My husband calls me his walking Rolodex.
4. I am terrible remembering names. So sad to have someone walk up to you in the store and they know you and you have no clue who they are. Some times I can remember where I know them from, but no name of course.
5. I participated in a triathlon last fall. I wasn't great, but I did do all three events (swimmng, biking, and mainly walking, though I did try to run part of it.)
6. I am only one year away from finishing my bachelors degree. I have been one year away for 14 years. I just realized that being mom is enough work, I don' t want to mix school into the formula. Plus, I was very morning sick the last year I was at college. Whenever I walk into the buildings on campus, those same memories flood my mind and I feel sick all over again.
7. I love paper crafting. Sometimes I just wish there was not laundry or other priorities and I could just play all day. Some days that happens, but most days it doesn't.

Today is my design team day at Cricut Cardz Challenge. However, I forgot to send my card off to be added, so here it is even though I had it done last week. The post was not ready to be uploaded to when I finished it and with spring break and all I forgot. I guess I will just add it to the Mr. Linky, since it is late.

On a good note, I was so excite that I got all my March and April design team projects done for both design teams that I am on. Now just some free time to just play is all I need.

I hope you take a look at what the other DT did. Wow, I just looked and I am very impressed they did a fabulous job.
Our challenge was to make a spring card with only the colors white, pink and green. Love this challenge, because spring and those colors are some of my favorites. I hope you join us here.

The never ending card

Cousin Kylie had her appendix out a couple of days ago, so what better idea for my kids to give their teenage cousin than a card that opens up to a new page over and over. Love this card style. Her is the front of the card.

This last page is an area for my kids to leave a comment for her to read. Then if opens up to the front to open again and again. My kids have already had hours of entertainment with this card. Hope she enjoys the mail.

Card Creations and More

This week we had a challenge to make a tri-fold card for Card Creations and More. Hope you join us for this challenge.

Okay, so this picture is not really good for an example of a tri-fold card. You see my design team submission was due Thursday and as I was walking out to go to a baby shower, I said to my husband. "Quick take a picture and send it to Card Creations and more for me. " What I forgot to mention was that it needed to show more than one ange to see the whole card. So no full view, maybe next time.

Any way as you may of guessed, after he took the picture I took the card to the baby shower and so this front view is the only style I have. Oh well. It almost gave me an excuse to make another card.

This weeks challenge was to use sparkle. I thought a ring would be perfect, since I have a wedding reception to go to in a couple of weeks. Their colors on the invitations are brown and dark red.

For sparkle, I embossed and glittered the ring, then I glittered the Mr. and Mrs. tag. Lastly I embossed the background and added glitter there too. It is harder to see. I hope you can see it and also play along with the challenge this week here.

craft day with the family

Saturday we went to the craft store. Each child got to pick something for making cards and scrapbooking, even my 4 year old boy.

Here are some cards made with my kids and their cousin. First one my son made with his big sister.

This one by my other daughter. She made it for her music teacher at school who is having a baby soon. The sub will be a displaced music teacher my older daughter had and loved. The inside is funny.

Invitations for church

I was asked to make some invitations for church to a special program for the kids who are going to turn eight this year. I teach this group each Sunday already, so it was fun to do. If I had more time I would have personalized the girls hair to match their card. Any way the info was the same, but I made girly ones for the girls and a shirt and tie for the boys. I don't know why, but when I saw this sketch challenge I thought of a baby chick card. I created for Getting Cricky Challenge and also the Card Patterns Sketch Challenge. I thought since I used the colors purple and yellow, I might as well make it an Easter card. I made it a gate fold opening. A fold that is not my strongest area. It is rather hard for me to get both sides even. Hope you enjoy.

May I say that I just love making these flowers. They are so pretty and so easy to make. I thought a basket full of flowers would help spring feel just a little closer. (As we are getting snow today)
I made these for the very first challenge at Card Creations & More by C. We were to make anything but not a card. I am excited to be one of her design team members. Hope you join us for the challenge and check out what everyone else made.

The paper I used is from DCWV Summer Dream paper pack.
I used a few scalloped circles and decide that I liked the one from Mini Monograms best, since it creates two different looks depending on how I folded the circles. Inked the edges and then glued them together. See my post here for the link of where I got the idea and directions of how to make them.

I had a friend who brought me a bunch of paper scraps for me to use for cards. The floral and the brown came from her scraps. I love the floral. I wish I had a couple of sheets. I could really have some fun. The light pink is from Papertrey Inc. and the darker of the pinks is from Close to My Heart.

I used Sugar and Spice for the scallop circle and the bird is from Cherry Limeaid. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.

I made this for the sketch at Peachy Keen. This is my first time entering one of their challenges. I have wanted to for a while, but....

Flant it Friday # 6

When I saw this challenge on FIF, I knew I wanted to make it. But my girls are older and so I wanted it to be boyish. I wasn't sure how I would pull it off, until I saw Simply Pam's plane with a dino. Just before I started this card my son asked me, "Why don't you ever make me a card, Mom?" So I asked him what his favorite animal was and he said a dog. Now that I am done, he asked me to make him a plane with a kitty too. Now I will have to find a boyish kitty and try this again.

I was able to pick up Celebrate with Florishes for at a super low price and I wanted to play with it some. I love how it has cute things for all seasons. I will be playing with it much more.

Also on a good note. Guess who came home yesterday? MY GYPSY!!! Provo Craft sent me a new one. I was so excited that I immediately did my update. I got all my free cartridges, except Smiley Cards did not download. It was too late to call PC, so I loaded most of my cartridges, only 6 more to go plus the ones that I just got off ebay and haven't received yet. This morning I spent an hour waiting to talk to someone at PC. They are really busy right now, so I understand the wait. I was told that by Monday I should have Smiley Cards added to my gypsy account and be able to download it. I can't wait till Monday. I just love PC, they may have a long wait, but their customer support is very nice and tries to be helpful.

I made this owl from the Cricut lite Sugar and Spice. I cut him at 3 1/2. I was able to pick up this cart and a couple of others for $10 and am really excited to play with them. Hopefully I will be posting more often now that kids are back in the swing of school. I do know you will hear more from me this week, since I have two challenges due for two design teams that I am on. I have them finished, I just need to sit down and get them posted. We will see about next week. I hope to get back into doing some more challenges on some of my favorite sites.

Pretty 3-D flowers

I am thrilled to have made these flowers. I used two different scallop circles from Sweet Treats. I have not yet found the scallop that I like best. They each folded a bit differently depending on how many scallops they have. The blue was cute at 2 1/4 inches and the red one was cut at 3 inches.

I learned how to make them thanks to Kim on Papercraft Star. Thank you Kim.

MPS Challenge DT 2011

This year I made the goal to have a plan for what I create. So for my first card this year, it is only fitting that it be for my husband. Yes, I know it is pink, but you see he is my biggest fan and supporter and manly or not he will love it. I left two areas blank so I could write a love note later.

My inspiration to make this came from a challenge for the My Pink Stamper Design Team. We were to use the colors green, pink, brown and one other color (white). I would love to be on the MPS design team, but have so little hope with 350 entries and only two spots. Thank Robyn for looking and for a chance.

Which card is your favorite? It was hard to limit my favorite cards to just ten, but I did. I really enjoy making cards and am excited for this year to make lots more. I was blessed this Christmas to get 5 My pink stamper stamp sets and 6 Peachy Keen sets and an ATG. So you will be seeing much more soon.

It is such a sad day yesterday when my gypsy was fedexed back to Provo Craft for replacement. Customer service was very nice and quickly agreed to replace it. The only problem is they will issue my new gypsy with my old serial number so that will take them a bit to make that transfer. Then I am told that my cartridges will work on the new one. I was told the process could take a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, I will have craft without it. I think that I will find I miss it even more than I had thought.

Repost of picutres for Oreo Treats

I keep running out of photo storage for my blogger account, so if you tried to view the Oreo cookie treat post, the pictures are now up. I will need to remind my sweet husband to remove his family photos off our picasa web. I am not sure why blogger accounts use picasa web for the photo storage, but apparently that is how at least my account is set up. I just wish they would tell me I was out of room when I uploaded, instead of deleting my photos after I do my post.

Oreo Cookie Treats

I saw a link from a blog I follow (How does she) to another site called sugarblog that is mainly a cake decorating site. One project that caught my eye was these oreo cookies. I just had to make my own batch. So after ordering some sugar transfer sheets from Global Sugar Art. My sheets came today and well you can see how it ended. So fun. I will do this again soon. Let me know what you think.

MPS challenge Zebra Card

I have been making cards to give away as gifts. So when My Pink Stamper issued this challenge to use two colors of pink and blue, I knew this was what I wanted to make for her challenge and as part of my gifts. I made 9 of them today. The zebra is cut from Create a Critter. The strips at the top are 1 1/8 by 3 inches.

This week the Cricut Cardz Challenge #55 is to make a card using a banner. I have been wanting to make some of the houses on the Jolly Holidays cartridge and this was the perfect excuse. Candy Recipes and Blog hop winner

I want to thank everyone for all your great comments. I really appreciate all your kind words. I had a couple people ask for the recipes, and thought I would share with all. At the bottom of the post is the winner.


Peppermint Bark

This recipe and the next one are so simple. Just melt vanilla Melty Chips in double boiler and add crushed candy canes. Mix and then spread on a sheet of wax paper. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top and let cool.

Almond Cranberry Bark

Just melt vanilla Melty Chips in double boiler and add chopped almonds and cranberries. Mix and then spread on a sheet of wax paper. Let cool. This is one of my favorites.


Mom's Best Peanut Brittle from All recipes.com

We love this recipe, and it has won first place at our local county fair twice.

Ingredients

1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
1 cup peanuts
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

Grease a large cookie sheet. Set aside.
In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, over medium heat, bring to a boil sugar, corn syrup, salt, and water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in peanuts. Set candy thermometer in place, and continue cooking. Stir frequently until temperature reaches 300 degrees F (150 degrees C), or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into hard and brittle threads.
Remove from heat; immediately stir in butter and baking soda; pour at once onto cookie sheet. With 2 forks, lift and pull peanut mixture into rectangle about 14x12 inches; cool. Snap candy into pieces.

English Toffee

Ingredients

1 cup real butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoons water
3 Hershey Chocolate Bars
Chopped nuts ( I use just a touch of almonds)

Directions

Grease a large cookie sheet. Set aside.
In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, over medium high heat, bring to a boil first four ingredients. Stir constantly until mixture is the color of a brown paper bag ( 300 degrees F)
Remove from heat; immediately pour onto cookie sheet. Spread mixture and add chocolate bars.
Once chocolate is melted, spread evenly and sprinkle with nuts. Cool. Snap candy into pieces.

Peanut butter balls

Ingredients

3 cups powder sugar
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 cups Jiff Peanut butter
1 tablespoon vanilla

Directions

Cream ingredients together.
Refrigerateat least 1 hours
Roll into balls
Dip into melted chocolate or chocolate melty chips.
Cool on wax paper.

Welcome to the "Thank You Gifts Blog Hop". I am so glad you are here visiting my blog. Thank you to Joy for hosting this hop. If you are not starting at the beginning, please feel free to start with Joy's blog.

Today I am showing three different ways to creatively give candy. First is a house box. Second the traditional candy box that I made. Finally, a tree box.

Here is the directions for the house. I used Winter Woodlands building # 3. You can make this on any size bug, but I would recommend resizing it with DS or the gypsy. For starters, you can make the house taller than it would be on its own and I also resized the door to not have the step.

Next I scored and cuttlebugged all that need to be done.

Here it is done. I used part of a circle punch on the side to make it easier to pull the boxed out.

I used my scorer to make the box insert. I just measured two sides of the house and measured how high (tall), I wanted the box to be. Then I just scored and cut and assembled. Now it is ready to fill with candy. The ribbon holds the candy in the house pretty well, so it doesn't drop out.

Now for the Candy box. I looked all over for a box like this one. I just couldn't find one I liked. So I made my own, using my gypsy and George & Basic Shapes. Here is how it looks before I folded it together.

My sides fold in double, so it is firmer and sturdier. I used my ATG to put it together and the tape holds it perfectly.

I made several colors. The heavier the card stock, the better they look.

Your options are limitless for the goodies you can put in these boxes. We did Cranbery Almond White Chocolate, Peppermint bark, English Toffee, Chocolates, and Peanut Brittle. Let me know if you want me to post the recipes and I will if I get enough requests. Lastly I added a pretty ribbon/bow to each.

Lastly, if you have the gypsy, then you should have Tags, bags, boxes and more. This tree is there and is super easy. I use the window option and have now cut out over 30. I used acetate for the window. I have filled them with various small Christmas candies, like M&M's, gummy bears/ snowmen & trees, chocolate covered pretzels, candy corn.

M & M Tree Gift Box

I saw this box in Tags, ags, boxes & More. I was thrilled to make it. The shape is pretty straight forward. One could design this pretty easy with taller sides using basic shapes. I sized this to fit 11.5 inches wide. It is a pretty good size. I used almost the entire bag of M & M's to fill the tree. I think it turned out great. I am so thrilled to have Tags, bags, Boxes and More. Now I just wish I had the new one out, called Wrapped Up (or something like that).

Snowman Card from Smiley Cards

This snowman is from the Smiley Card Cartridge. I love this guy. He is soooo cute. I really like the cute little mouth and glasses. I was prompted to make this for a challenge at Techniques By Trish. We were asked to use the Smiley Cards cart. and some twin. I was so happy to find this snowman there, so I could continue making Christmas cards.

'Tis the Season Card

This little girl from Winter Frolic reminds me of one of my daughters. So I had to make a card of it. I love these PKS. I just ordered my second set. Over time I hope to get a some more. Meanwhile I this is my favorite face to use. I think I have seen a set where the mouth is an "O" shape that looks like singing. That also would have worked nicely here. Well, I've got to make a few more cards in order to send them out this year. Hopefully I will be posting more over the weekend.

Snowman Card for Flaunt It Fridays

There is a new blog out there, that has a new challenge every Friday, based on a certain cut from a certain cartridge. This week was their first challenge. Use Winter Frolic, cut on page 29. So here is what I came up with. They also have a blog hop going on. I haven't done that yet, but was super excited to do the challenge. So after I post this I am off to do the blog hop. Hope you get a chance to hop along too at Flaunt It Fridays. These ladies are super talented and I am sure I will enjoy what they have today.

Gift tags CCC #53

This week at Cricut Cardz Challenge # 53 we were to either make a gift tag or a 3x 3 card. I chose the gift tag, so I could be one step closer to being ready for Christmas. I chose the tags above, because they will go nicely with the wrapping paper I have recently picked up. I hope you will join us this week CCC.

The blue tags are cut using Winter Woodland tag option. I used packing tape to the back to add the glitter. Doodled and then added ribbon. I used ones like this last year. I just love them. I will experiment some more to see if I can find a new favorite this year, but this will be hard to beat for me. The last two sets in the green and red are cut from the tag option on Winter Frolic. I embossed the "To" and used stickles in at the bottom.

I embossed the bottom tags. They are almost pretty enough to have by themselves.
